UNTANGLING THE PRIVATE LIFE AND HEALTH CONCERNS OF RYAN SEACREST
A Producer
A few executive producing credits on E!’s various programs were enough to draw Seacrest into the producing world, and the same year Seacrest signed with E!, he started his very own production company.
Ryan Seacrest Productions launched in 2006 and has since produced both scripted and unscripted programming, of which some have won Emmy awards. As in any production company, some programs have done better than others, but there’s one show we all know that has Seacrest’s name on it.
Biggest Contribution
You might be familiar with a very famous family in Los Angeles, full of businesswomen and drama. That’s right, the Kardashians are not only friends with Seacrest, but their various shows are produced by his production company—and it’s one of Seacrest’s most proud accomplishments. Back in 2007, Seacrest launched the show and introduced the world to Keeping Up with the Kardashians
“So I say, ‘Have any of you guys heard of the Kardashians? … Well, I helped create that…That’s my contribution. And I’m proud,” Seacrest shared at a dinner with Larry King and many foreign leaders, as he later told ABC News. But Seacrest’s contributions to the world don’t stop there.
Feeling Fashionable : Much like his style of broadcasting, Seacrest’s ventures outside of entertainment also attempt to be welcoming and friendly. After having his suits fitted for events by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey for years, Seacrest realized that he could use Bailey’s expertise. Together, they created a brand of suits that fit a wide range of sizes, all for an accessible price, and began this partnership in 2009.
Seacrest also created a skincare line for men called Polished, allowing men to use their five products and easily take care of their skin in an otherwise confusing beauty product industry. Despite adding multiple undertakings to his basket, Seacrest wasn’t done making big contributions to the world.
Ryan Seacrest Foundation
In 2010, Seacrest realized just how much radio and entertainment had positively impacted his life, and decided to extend the powers of it to others. He created a nonprofit called the Ryan Seacrest Foundation and placed 10 centers in children’s hospitals around the United States. The foundation focuses on inspiring young people through hands-on experiences in radio, TV, and media.
“We believe access to multimedia experiences will bring patients exciting and stimulating adventures to encourage optimistic thoughts during treatment,” their website reads. However, Seacrest owes his success to one thing.
Chronically on Time
Over the years, Seacrest has packed more and more onto his plate, and a schedule like his requires punctuality to the major degree. A minor delay anywhere in his day could throw everything off.
“I just really like things to move. I never am loud, but I like things to stay on schedule and be efficient…I can be easygoing within the framework of a program. But I can’t be easygoing outside of it, because everything’s got to start immediately,” he told The Wall Street Journal. It’s his punctuality and efficiency that allow him to thrive in each of his ventures—and it all starts before the sun is even out.
Daily Routine
Diet is a big deal as well, and he avoids dairy, as well as implements intermittent fasting while trying to stick to a mostly plant and fish-based diet. Along with a skincare routine, Seacrest has maintained a young and recognizable face, and lean physique for his entire career. Still, while we’d recognize his face anywhere, he doesn’t consider himself a celebrity.
Well-Known Face
“I’ve seen people react to actors, to movie stars. I never get that kind of treatment. It’s like, ‘Hey, Ryan, how are you? Nice to see you.’ Almost as if you literally know them,” Seacrest told The Wall Street Journal. In fact, it’s not uncommon for him to be the one asked to take pics of celebrities with each other either. Still, he doesn’t necessarily mind that dynamic.
”People don’t react to me with awe, like a movie star. It’s ‘What’s up, Ryan?’ Like I’m their friend. And I want that. I want to be the world’s friend,” he told The New York Times. But while he was busy being the world’s friend, his own relationships were being put to the side.
Lack of Friendship
When you’re constantly awake in the early morning, asleep by 9 in the evening, and busy every minute in between, it can be difficult to maintain close friendships. Naturally, Ryan Seacrest’s social life suffered throughout his career.
